WE HAVE A NEW WORLD RECORD FOR THE LONGEST OPEN SALTWATER SCUBA DIVE!

October 20, 2014 Allen The Grouper Sherrod ascended to a cheering crowd and claimed the record after spending 51 hours 4 minutes and 28 seconds continuously underwater in the beautiful Atlantic Ocean off Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, Florida.

 

The Shore Diving Capital of Florida, Lauderdale-By-The-Sea will host the First Annual Mermaids-By-The-Sea Gathering September September 17th – 21st, 2014. As mermaids gather from far and wide Allen “The Grouper” Sherrod will spend 55 hours underwater to reclaim his world record for the longest saltwater dive, originally set in 2011. This event draws international attention to the area as divers, mermaids, and fans come out to cheer on “The Grouper.” This years’ event includes an exhibition of the fabulous undersea art photography of The Sinking World of Andreas Franke and special appearance by Andreas Franke, author Carolyn Turgeon and The Mertailor Eric Ducharme.
