The September 2014 World Record Dive

Allen The Grouper
In Lauderdale-by-the-Sea

Allen The Grouper Sherrod, backed by a team of supporters and safety divers, will enter the Atlantic Ocean from the beach in beautiful Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, Florida early on the morning of September 18, 2014 and will remain submerged continuously in the ocean water for 55 hours. The Grouper will eat and sleep underwater and depend upon SCUBA equipment for life support.

He will be in communication using his invention, the Self Contained Underwater Loud-Speaker- SCULS. With the SCULS The Grouper will broadcast the sound of his voice underwater and tell the story of the record dive to the world.
The world will also be watching as the entire event will be broadcast over the internet with a live 24/7 video feed to the web.
Divers and snorkelers are invited to visit The Grouper during his World Record Dive and to participate in the activities of Mermaids-By-The-Sea.
The Grouper and his team of supporters are busy organizing the many details necessary to accomplish this feat and there is much work to be done. Updates will be posted on this page as the work progresses. We invite all divers, mermaids, and lovers of the sea to join in this exciting event and be part of this history making dive.
